Here's the shot of pink footed goose that we met one day on a frozen lake in Smithtown. It was dark and the goose was far away so I didn't feel like keeping this shot. Nevertheless,, later in Stokes Bird Guide I found out that pink footed goose is a big rarity in US and holds code 4 in American Birding Association. This means " Species not recorded annually in the ABA Checklist Area, but with six or more total records—including three or more in the past 30 years—reflecting some pattern of occurrence." As a result I kept those shots. Wish the light was better and I could get closer but I am still happy that I could meet such a beautiful bird.
